Students of the city who always seem at a loss to find a suitable place not far from their hangouts that is easy on the wallet have a new reason to rejoice: a new restaurant is in town. Canteen Till I Die, a café-cum-restaurant located at Satya Niketan in South Delhi, caters primarily to students and follows the motto “good food is good mood”. Keeping in mind a solidarity with the empty pockets of the average Indian college student, Baldeep, the key person behind the restaurant, has made it a point to have several budget meals on the menu that offer great food without drilling too big a hole in your pocket.
A cool place with a decent layout and quote-written wall hangings. the place is very well designed to give a look of some hangout Adda. The grey walls and lamp lights add to beauty of atmosphere. Wooden tables make you feel like you are in some college canteen and A LIVE KITCHEN is totally new concept to see at satya niketan.
They have introduced some really nice creative things to their menu like:
-> Shake shots – simple 100ml shots that you can gulp in only at rs 25
->Half pizza – wanna try two pizzas at rate of just one, OK they are ready to serve you half pizza for that extra treat to your buds
-> Virgin mojito – A level up by adding flavours like paan, watermelon, classic & mint.
A simple cup of tea or coffee is likely to cost you just around thirty bucks. Compare that with the typical café in the city where you’re lucky to get a hot beverage for below a hundred! The beverage menu is varied and extensive, covering everything from Indian chai-style tea to coffee to hot chocolate. A long list of snacks follow, the vast majority of which are amazingly priced at below a hundred bucks.
Chocolate banana &peanut butter smoothie – prepared fresh , heavy, not that good(Only thing that disappointed me)
Oreo shake – You can feel those crumps, and chocolaty blend
Chandni chowk to China – crispy bhel with super saucy blends fried to perfection
Potato and mozzarella balls – spicy small fried balls filled with chopped cheese and potatoes
Butter chicken toasties – one plate is enough for your dinner served smokey hot
Peri peri pannerr burger – spicy super stuffed burger that needs a wide mouth to be opened to get that whole flavour
Peri peri chicken half – okay this was something that disappointed me , though new concept of half pizza so that you can taste two pizza at cost of one
Oh meri margherita – A super cheeseeey pizza.
Virgin mojito (paan flavoured) – the best thing you can have in south campus. I mean this is amazing yr real paan and gulukand will make you soul freeze
Courteous staff and knows how to serve with a smile. Time taken from ordering to placing your food to your table do not makes you wait long. The people take your empty plates side by side so that your tables do not becomes a mess. They will confirm your order twice to assure the right thing is served.
Drawing inspiration from the popular Bryan Adams number 18 Till I Die, the café is set to take the student circle of the city by storm. Thick Shakes and snacks are something that you can expect to find at Canteen Till I Die. Their idea is to create a brand that students learn to associate with ambience, quality, and budget-friendliness.
