Your guide to best food-joints in South Campus..

  1. Scooter on the wall

Complete with a very kitschy décor, this restaurant has the most rustic of the interiors and the food is to gorge upon. True to it’s name, there is a blue scooter that is mounted on rustic, red-bricked walls; which looks extremely eccentric. The ‘Surf-and-Turf platter’ is amazing and the garlic-butter poached prawns are just melt-in-your mouth. Extremely popular among the college-going crowd, this place is smooth and easy on the pocket and is the go-to place after college hours!

  1. Wood Box Café

Known for its ‘will-blow-your-mind-off’ beverages served in chic glasses cut out of liquor bottles, Wood Box café is one of the hippest places to eat and unwind at with your fellas after a long day at college. The restaurant, all done-up in woody interiors, sticking to its theme is a cosy, home-like place to be. The food is impeccable and everything on the menu is sure to make you come back for more.

  1. Big Yellow Door

Off-shoot of the North Campus restaurant, Big Yellow Door, or BYD, as it is generally called is a trendy eatery among students. With its statement, yellow coloured door in an asymmetrical shape, BYD is probably one of the best places when it comes to good quality, pocket friendly food. The butter chicken pasta here is to die for and the mutton bomb burgers are the cutest little burger sliders we’ve ever seen!

  1. 2 Bandits Lounge & Bar

Supported with a karaoke machine and board games to add to the fun of eating out, 2 Bandits is a cute, chic place with some amazing Mexican food on offer. They do live sports screenings too and serve tid-bits on dirt cheap prices on popular sports matches. The place is really buzzing and with the delectable food out of the kitchen of 2 Bandits, you sure are in for some seriously good time!

  1. Echoes- Eat Engage Energize

A very pocket friendly option, when it comes to eating out; this eatery will be your go-to during month-ends and evidently, for it’s impeccable food. A cosy café, this place is exceedingly popular for it’s range of shakes on the menu and the live music in the evenings just adds to the charm of having a meal out.

  1. Young Wild Free Café

A very vibrant and lively ambience at this cute, small café is what attracts most people, the giant guitar hanging on the entrance is just a place. With the whole Tibetan work-up and jazz, you feel like you’re in some other world as you enter this place. Plus, the food is to die for and you just cannot stop eating. Catching up with an old friend on some nibbles and maybe some nice, light music? This is the place to be.

  1. Hera Pheri Café

Another one of those eat-out places that won’t burn a hole in your pocket is the Hera Pheri Café. The place’s colourful and energetic ambience is sure to let your spirits get roaring. They do a lot of fusion and innovativeness with their food. When here, do try the chicken gol gappas and makhani achari pasta.

  1. Pipeline Café

A very chilled-out environment, The Pipeline Café is well-in-sync with it’s name; the roof is designed with pipes. The café takes on a modern twist on fast-food and does it well. Harmonious with modern finger-foods, the menu is consistent and it is hard to find a dish that you won’t love here.

  1. Café 101

The highlight of this place is that it serves amazing breakfast too! Bustling with people, thanks to it’s value for money quality of food, Café 101 has a wide4 range of pastas, pizzas and other nibbles to eat. Come out for a lazy brunch with friends and you sure to not leave with disappointment.

  1. Dishoom

Very quirky in both its work-up and name, this is an eccentric café in the lanes of Satyaniketan. This is one of those can’t-be-missed cafes reason to the Royal Enfield parked outside with the number plate reading the café’s name. They have nicotine-free, flavoured  hookah on offer too. The food is amazing, as tagged by college-goers and a party to the taste buds.

  1. The Biryani Co.

The biryani lover’s paradise, this place has a plethora of biryani’s on offer. In addition to biryani, they also serve an array of tikkas and melt-in-your-mouth kebabs, all under one roof. The rice is soft and pillow-y, fragrant like anything! They also do vegetarian biryani’s so vegetarians aren’t ruled out.

  1. QRO Gourmeteriia

A bistro-like feel attached to it, this an uber-chic restaurant in the quaint lanes of South Campus. They have some really nice Mexican on offer. The food is spot on and their desserts are not to be missed for. They do a lot of stuff with chocolate in their beverages and desserts section so you are in for a treat!
